PABO is a relaxing PC game which requires player to collect the magic potion by transforming between PA and BO. In the game everything (including any menus) can be navigated with one button --- Space. It's a fun game that you will die a lot and come back again and again. XD
I'm quite pleased with this game. It's my first Game Jam game and it's my first level design work. I teamed up with 3 good friends and got this done in 48 hours. Super exhausted and fun experience!
- If players cannot control their speed (especially move toward right) directly, there are two ways to help them speed up: one is use slopes, another one is we add wind element for balloon. The later one will make the game too complicated, so we stick with the first one. Then that means we should avoid flat terrain otherwise players may have chance to stand still at one position forever.
- Balloon can fly while icy ball will fall. They have some opposite properties. However, sticky ball seems has no connection with them and irrelevant to the gameplay, the only reason we have it is for the sticky jam on some movable terrain can carry it move. It feels like put the cart before the horse. So it’s better to cut the sticky ball out.
- Chiu made an icy ball prototype and it turns out that it will fly straight out along the tangential direction of the slope. What’s the role of friction in our game? Do we really need to make something about this property?
